Trust & safety

Looking for a home from thousands of miles away means trusting someone you've never met, in a country whose language and customs you don't know. That is exactly where scams thrive. Remoters exists to remove that leap into the unknown: your money never goes straight to a stranger, your home finder has been vetted and stays monitored, and the quote sets out what happens if the search does not succeed.

Payment

Your money never leaves the platform unprotected

Every payment goes through the platform via a secure link. You never wire money to a private individual abroad, and you never pay cash.

1

You pay online

Via a secure payment link sent by the platform. Never cash, never a direct transfer to home finders.

2

Remoters holds the funds

The money stays with the platform for the whole assignment. The home finder receives nothing at this stage.

3

The service is delivered

Funds are released to the home finder only once the work is done.

The simplest rule to remember: if you're asked to pay outside Remoters, it isn't Remoters.
Guarantee

If the search does not succeed

Each home finder sets their own refund terms and writes them into the quote you accept. Above those individual terms, one universal floor applies.

What the quote covers

If the search does not succeed, the home finder's quote sets out what happens: read it before you accept. Your payment is held by Remoters and only released to the home finder at the end of the mission.

Each home finder's own terms are set out in their quote. The full model is explained on the Pricing page.

Vetting

How home finders are vetted

Nobody becomes a Remoters home finder by filling in a form. Selection combines verification, interviews and a probation period, followed by continuous monitoring.

1

Verification — we confirm the candidate genuinely lives in the city they want to cover and has a network there.

2

Two interviews, weighted on service mindset as much as on market knowledge.

3

An entry period — their first searches are closely reviewed before confirmation.

4

Confirmed status, earned through completed searches and client satisfaction.

5

Continuous monitoring — a home finder whose feedback slips loses that status and stops receiving requests.

If something goes wrong

Someone to turn to if things go wrong

You're never left alone with your home finder. That's what you get in return for going through a platform rather than dealing directly with a stranger.

Remote rental scams, and how to avoid them

Whether you go through us or not, these habits apply everywhere. Most frauds rely on the same lever: creating urgency to get a transfer before anything can be checked.

Never pay blind

Never transfer a deposit or first month's rent before someone you trust has physically seen the home.

The too-good price

Beware of rent clearly below market: it's the most common bait.

The payment method

Refuse payments by bank transfer to an individual, money order or cryptocurrency.

The unreachable landlord

A landlord “abroad” who can never show the place and offers to mail the keys is a red flag.

The duplicated listing

Check that the photos aren't circulating elsewhere on the web, and that the listing isn't duplicated across sites at different prices.

The unread lease

Have the lease reviewed before signing: that's where the costly clauses hide.

Who we are

The company behind the platform

Remoters is a French company headquartered in Saint-Mandé, in the Paris area. It's run by its founders, Luc Dayen and Faustine Colin. You can reach us by phone or by email — a detail that is anything but minor when you're trying to find out who is behind a website.

What we don't promise

We don’t guarantee you’ll get a specific property: the landlord or the agency accepts an application — not us. We don’t stand in for a lawyer, a notary or a tax adviser. And support services vary from one home finder to another — they are detailed in the quote, precisely so you know what you are buying. A promise kept beats a broad promise.

Frequently asked questions

How does Remoters secure payments?
+

Payment is made exclusively online through a secure link. Remoters holds the funds and releases them to the home finder only once the service has been delivered. No direct or cash payment is ever requested.

What happens if the search does not succeed?
+

The home finder's quote sets that out, along with their refund terms: read it before you accept. Your payment is held by Remoters until the end of the mission.

How are home finders vetted?
+

Each candidate is verified as genuinely living in the city, goes through two interviews, then starts under an entry status with their first searches closely reviewed. Confirmed status is earned through client satisfaction and can be withdrawn.

What if I don't get along with my home finder?
+

Email [email protected]: a reassignment is possible. If there's a disagreement about the service, the Remoters team steps in as mediator.

Are the reviews genuine?
+

Yes. They're published on Google and Trustpilot, outside our editorial control, and can be read directly on those platforms. Remoters is rated 4.8 out of 5 on Google.

How do I spot a rental scam from abroad?
+

The classic signals are a rent well below market, no possibility of a viewing, pressure to pay quickly, and a request for a direct transfer or crypto payment. Never pay a deposit before someone you trust has seen the property.

Start your search with peace of mind

Payment held until delivery, a vetted and monitored home finder, a clear quote and mediation on top of it all.
